With the uncertainty of how we will be teaching comes the need to be flexible and to have materials that are also flexible from classroom to home learning. When our students put forth effort to make their work the best it can be, it is important to celebrate their achievements! These materials will be incorporated with the stage that I built over the summer to allow the students to showcase and celebrate their learning, while also learning to speak and present to their peers. These materials will allow the students to showcase/celebrate their learning successes either in the classroom setting or through distant learning, in a germ free environment. In our classroom, we will have a stage that I built over the summer. When a student is preparing to present, they will ring the doorbell to get their classmate’s attention. This project will allow us to add lights, props, microphones/speakers and storage for the materials that the students will use on the stage. The stage itself will have LED lights around it that the student that is presenting will be able to customize. Located next to the board, the student will also have storage containers with markers and other materials to use during their demonstration. The clipboards will be used by both the students who are performing and those in the audience to interact with the performers. The air purifier will help provide a germ free environment. Finally, this can also be a place that high performing students are showcased with LED lights, disco ball, and strobe lights for extra excitement! This area can easily be captured into a Zoom background and used for distant learning in the same way as it would be used in the classroom! Helping the student's to maintain the connection to their class!
