  • Game-ify My Classroom with Board and Card Games

    Funded Jun 14, 2024

This Grant has been so wonderful for my students. We used it at the beginning of the year to build our GT community. The kids loved it. We have an emphasis at my school on collaboration and SEL. Seeing GT kids play games together and have fun without competition, was so much fun.

I had a fun time playing various games with each other. The kids keep asking when we get to play the games again. I plan on each month having students try out the various games.

GT students have a hard time with losing and having fun just to have fun. They tend to be very competitive. Seeing them losing and winning with great attitudes has been so wonderful.

Your contribution to my classroom will continue to be appreciated year after year. Thank you sooo much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Gatton

  • STEM Plus Makerspace Equals Student Engagement

    Funded Jan 30, 2024

Thank you so much for supplying the STEM supplies for my students. They have loved having the materials to create. We read novels in my class. The STEM projects the students created enhanced their readings of the novels. One of the novels we read was Charlotte's Web. The students used the materials to create what they would write in the web. They also created Charlotte's Web STEM balloon spiders out of the materials.

My students also read Wish Tree and they did a tree STEM challenge. The littles used the materials to create beanstalks after reading Jack and the Beanstalk.

We have many other projects that we will do utilizing the materials you provided. It means so much to myself and my students that you would provide materials for engaging activities that they love.”

  • Want to Learn to Code? Let Osmo Teach You!

    Funded Dec 12, 2022

Thank you so much for providing the funds for the project. This has been such an amazing experience for my students. When the kids first saw the Osmos set up, they were so intrigued. Once they started using them, they only want to do the Osmos. They have loved using the Osmo. This could never have been provided financially by my school. The kids will truly enjoy all the different activities that come with the various Osmo kits. They loved the coding, the food truck, the tangrams, and the words that we have done so far. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

  • Kindness, Inclusion, and Tolerance Literature Circles in Today's Elementary Classroom

    Funded Sep 30, 2022

Thank you so much for the books. The students enjoyed choosing which ones to read and discussing them in Literature Circles. They could relate to the bully situation and how people were discriminated against due to culture and religion. It brought up lots of good conversations and connections to things going on in the real world.

It is important today to help students develop empathy. These books helped us in that direction with class conversations. The student also liked having actual books in their hands to read. The students also want to read more books by the authors which is wonderful to inspire them to continue to love reading.

Thank you again for your generosity in contributing to my students' love of reading!!!!”
