Every Child is an Artist.. Who Needs a Sketchbook

Funded Dec 2, 2020

The students of Thomas Holme Elementary School in Philadelphia, as well as myself, wanted to share our gratitude for your generosity in helping us achieve our goal in receiving sketchbooks. As a school who has been virtual most of the year and has recently gone hybrid for a few of our students, these sketchbooks could not have been more helpful during this time. Students were so excited to learn of the gift of art supplies that they would be receiving, having large smiles in having a better way to organize their art and keep their pieces together.

Since some of our students are hybrid, the sketchbooks help as they are in class 2 days a week and at home 3 days a week. Through the use of the sketchbooks rather than loose paper, students can easily transport projects as needed. For students who are still fully virtual, it has helped them with the assignments and again keeping things organized. While these students have not been back to school yet, some still do move around a lot, whether to a babysitter, daycare, or a family member's home.

As our quarter is ending and a new group of students will be partaking in art for the fourth and final quarter of the year, we look forward to using your gift to help us create art that relates to stories that students will be reading as we are an arts integrated school. Once again, thank you for your generosity, especially during these times.”

With gratitude,

Mrs. Harrigan
