Our school district has opted to go back to school in person instead of virtually. We know the best place for students to learn and grow is in a school setting. With that in mind, we know as a school there are some very strict rules we need to follow in order to keep our staff, students, and families safe. Part of our plan to return to school requires all students and staff to wear masks during the day. Students will need to keep track of their masks to ensure they will have it by their sides. The lanyards in my Amazon cart will be utilized for the students to clip their masks on when they are not in use. This will help alleviate them loosing or misplacing their masks when they take them off. Next, for sanitary reasons, our school has shut down drinking fountains in our school. I am asking for water bottles for each one of my students, as they will need to have water throughout the day. Not all of our students have water bottles at home or have the financial support to buy them. Our families would appreciate knowing their child can be hydrated all day and not have to worry about purchasing them for their children. Both of these items are small things I can do to help support our schools journey to helping our students stay safe at school. With COVID-19 being such a huge part of our world, I know it is part of my job to educate the kids on facts about the virus. I am creating lessons on educating the kids the rationale behind wearing masks and the spread of the virus. The lanyards and water bottles are direct examples of ways we can help stop the spread of COVID-19.
