Building an Inspiring Classroom Library!
Funded Apr 17, 2021Your generosity is much appreciated! This will make a huge difference in our classroom. We had a mini celebration today in class when I told them we are getting new books; they can't wait to get their hands on them! You all are the best and our class is forever grateful!”

Funded Oct 30, 2020I'm so sorry for this belated note of appreciation. It has been a wild year! I knew my first year of teaching might be overwhelming, but the challenges really stacked up. Thanks to you and your gifts, my students have been able the most of this school year and have still been learning so much.
The giant, magnetic math manipulatives have enabled my Zoom students to clearly see as I demo math concepts in our morning lessons. If the afternoons, my on-site students beg to use them during our math centers. They LOVE them so much that they actually choose to do math when they have free time. The hands-on practice has had a huge impact on their math learning.
The syllable flips books have been a great literacy tool, particularly for my delayed readers. I'm so proud to see how their reading has progressed this year. Their writing is improving too, and they all love to practice writing and sharing their work with the class on their new adhesive writing sheets.
Your donations have made our class more interactive and more fun! We are truly grateful for you support.”

Support a First-Year Dual Language Teacher!
Funded Aug 4, 2020Thanks to you all for helping make my first semester as a teacher a success!
Thanks to you all for helping make my first semester as a teacher a success! I walked into a classroom that was full of enthusiasm but empty of materials. You all helped me fill my bare cupboards.
We use the math manipulatives and white boards every single day in our math lessons. While making their learning more fun, the hand-on items have helped solidify their basic number sense. With counters, ten frames, number lines and base ten blocks, they're now able to understand and use multiple strategies for solving a new math problem. It so fun to watch them think critically and choose a tool to help when they're stuck. You'd understand just how much your donation is appreciated if you could hear the excitement in the room when I pull out the double dice. Who would think that practicing basic math facts could be so much fun?
The books have also brought a great deal of joy to our classroom. It has been impactful to have culturally relevant, Spanish language picture books for read alouds, for writing prompts, and for integration into our social studies curriculum. Because of Covid, student cannot independently browse the library. So, each week I fill each student's book bin with different, sanitized books. They can't wait to see what's in their bin each Monday and read to their puppy reading buddies each day. It's the Elephant and Piggie books you've given them that really steal the show! They LOVE them! After reading, they always scan the back of the book to see what else is in the series. Thanks to you, we have almost all of them.
The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card was especially appreciated by me. With those funds I was able to buy mathematics and Spanish language arts curriculum in a format that I could readily use for both my in-person and my remote learners. I would never have found enough time to translate, convert, or create so many digital-ready resources myself. Having these resources at hand allowed me to appropriately challenge my students each day, no matter their learning level or location.
The cards in the photos were made for you, our donors, to say both Thank You and Merry Christmas. Your generosity and support have truly made a difference in the lives of many students in particularly difficult year.
Muchas gracias y Feliz Navidad,
