Save The Heart Save The Student
Funded Feb 23, 2024Thank you Allstate for your donation of candy, inspirational stickers , inspirational pop up notes, lunch box notes, inspirational cards, and more. The students have done several projects already. The first project was putting candy on an index card that had an inspirational note and passing it out to their immediate group in the after school program. The next project was finding peers in the building that looked discouraged and handing them an inspirational note. The next project was to put a sticker on someone's notebook in class that simply did not have a smile on their face. The next project entails the entire school. They have made a list of inspirational sayings like: you are loved, you are valuable, you are important. They are going to tape those pieces of paper to a piece of candy and give a piece of candy with those sayings. They are going to give one to each student in the entire school. They are very excited. You have made their day, and you made the day of many many teenagers in the school. We appreciate you, allowing them to serve others in this manner :-).”

Funded Jan 18, 2024Thank you so much for your donation. The students have an already gotten through a box and a half of tissues. This time of the year is a season where there is a lot of sneezing and coughing. Thank you also for the pencil, sharpener and pencils. All of our pencils were worn out and the pencil sharpener had bit the dust. As we erase, erase, our erasers had worn down. As we worked on the board, the dry, erase markers had dried out. With each new day, we learn new sight words, and new vocabulary words, which we put on index cards. You have given us a revival in education for the school year. Thank you so much!”

Warm in the Winter
Funded Jan 8, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donation of warm, fuzzy blankets for my students. They were all very excited to have them. They are able to take them home and they will keep them warm during these winter months.
In Tennessee, we have had a crazy winter storm, and there are a few more that the weather casters are predicting. This will allow these children and their families to be able to snuggle underneath the blanket and be warm and keep from getting frostbitten. I greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity.”

Funded Dec 13, 2023Thank you so much for your donation of snacks. Every day as the kids finish their work and get ready for related arts, they have a snack. We have jobs in my classroom and one of them is to be the waiter/waitress. When that is their job, they are to take orders as if they were in the restaurant. They show what we have and take the order. Then they give this other student their order. . You have allowed this to become a reality. You are playing a part in creating job skills. Thank you so much! I appreciate the kindness, but also the opportunity for the students.”

Funded Jan 8, 2024Thank you so much for the opportunity for my students to be clean and feel clean. They also were excited that they would smell good and everyone would know that they smelled good. When they walk into school, they no longer have to be concerned about not being clean. They are able to wash their body, put on deodorant, so they can get through the day and feel confident as they walk the halls. It was also important to the girls that they had a way to feel clean when they were feeling feminine. Thank you so much for your generosity and helping with the necessities.”

As they opened their bag of presents today, they were so excited. They wore their gloves throughout the day, even though it was not cold in the school. They were so proud of what you had given them. Thank you.”

Keeping Warm and Healthy Part 2
Funded Nov 16, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity. It is very difficult to find thick sweatshirts that have a hood on them. You have been able to each of these children to have an opportunity to stay warm from their head to their waist. It also allowed them to now come to school and wear school colors. The sheer excitement on their faces when they saw the sweatshirts, was priceless. Each one of the students wore their sweatshirt all day today. I'm sure that they will wear it several days over Christmas break and when we come back and the weather is freezing. I appreciate your kindness!”

Keeping Warm and Healthy This Winter Part 3
Funded Nov 16, 2023Because of your donation, the students are able able to come to school or play outside and stay warm. Because of your kindness their lips will not get chapped, which will keep them from their lips peeling and hurting. In all reality, you are helping assist them and staying healthy. If their bodies are warm, and their faces are able to be covered in their lips protected, it is less likely that they will have infections. You have helped them in more ways than you could ever imagine. We really appreciate your help. They also were so excited to open the gifts.”

Funded Aug 22, 2023I love watching the faces of my students when they open the packages. This one was a little different because they enjoyed it at various times throughout the day. When they just needed a break in between classes, they went to this section. When one was stressed out, they went to the section. When they can use small objects to change their perspective, life changes for everybody.
The visual timers were such an asset. When we have break cards, we give them a five minute limit so they can regroup and get back to work. When they're having a tough time, the visual timer also is reminder that they need to finish the difficult time by the time, the color goes away. The variety of stress reducing manipulatives, that you helped to purchase, helped a variety of students. From the expandable ball, to the Squeezable, doughballs, to the timer that changes colors, to each, and everything, met the needs for each one of the kids. I am so grateful that you were willing to give your donation help the students through their difficult times.”
