Tools for Growing Confidence and Self-Awareness to Improve Relationships
Funded Aug 31, 2022I want to take a moment to send a VERY BIG THANK YOU to all of you for helping support our classroom and make this project a reality. We truly appreciate your generous donations and are extremely grateful.
Because of your gift, our students have been able to find ways to regulate their emotions and need to move, and still be able to focus in class. The students love having the flexible seating options for times when they just need to wiggle and move, times when they are tired and need help staying alert and for times when they just want to sit somewhere other than the hard student chairs. Having the ball as options has enabled them the ability to have some control over an environment that is very structured. The therapy fruit squish balls have been another great addition to our classroom. The students love to use them with they feel the need to keep their hands moving or was a way to focus nervous energy during stressful tests and larger, more demanding assignments. They love that there is a variety in the strength of the squish ball and that they are fun colored fruit shapes.
Lastly, we want to thank you for the lesson plans, activities and the gift card. These gifts have enabled us to figure out how to navigate sticky situations and new experiences in a mature and kind way. The activities are fun to do and they keep the students engaged, while teaching them important life skills that they have missed due to the last few years of unique learning experiences.
Without yourselves and other donors, classrooms around the world would be lacking materials and supplies that are extremely needed. On behalf of my students and other teachers around the world, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your generosity and kindness.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Tinelle

Funded Mar 1, 2012Thank you all so very much for your donations. I cannot express what an impact these supplies have had on my students. Being that my students are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, they are mostly visual learners. Explaining the concept of DNA and understanding it is difficult for any student, so being able to SHOW them what DNA actually looks like was very important to their understanding. It was also a great added bonus that they were able to do the experiment that allowed them to use (and keep) their own DNA. The experiment with the owl pellets was a fun lab activity also. The boys were a little hesitant at first (who would've thought), but they eventually got into the activity once they realized they could put the skeletons together after they found the bones.
These lab projects have changed the way my students see and understand these two topics. They didn't have to rely on learning and memorizing the material because they were able to experience it first hand. In addition to their experiences, a few of my future classes will be able to experience these labs because we still have some supplies left over.
A million thank yous to you all. :)”

How Can We Really Learn Science Without Any Supplies?
Funded Nov 7, 2011I can not thank you all enough for your generous donation to our classroom. The lab supplies and vocabulary cards you have donated have not only smoothed over one speed bump in my students academic lives, but have also enabled them to become more efficient workers in science. Without a lack of science supplies, my students are able to focus more on science concepts and see first hand how simple machines work. They are able to learn by doing and building rather than by just reading a book. The vocabulary cards have allowed the students to kinesthetically match the vocabulary terms and definitions, and then post them on our vocabulary word wall.
Now thanks to your kindness and support, my students can do more hands on learning with the many labs and activities that spark their imagination and curiosity. This is also the gift that keeps on giving because my classes will be able to use these lab supplies for years to come.
We can not express our thanks enough.”

Calculating Our Way Through Science
Funded Dec 24, 2010I can not thank you all enough for your generous donation to our classroom. The calculators you have donated have not only smoothed over one speed bump in my students academic lives, but have also enabled them to become more efficient workers in science. Without the obstacle of math computation, my students are able to focus more on their science work (rather than giving up because they can't figure out the math). Not only have the calculators help with their classwork, such as calculating how much something would weigh on the moon, but they also help them complete their required labs successfully.
Now thanks to your kindness and support, not only do my student have working calculators, but they each get to use one individually and can therefore work at their own pace. These calculators have done so much good for my students, giving them the confidence to complete the task as opposed to acting out to hide their insecurities in math. This is also the gift that keeps on giving because my classes will be able to use these calculators for years to come.
We can not express our thanks enough.”
