Markers Please!
Funded Sep 29, 2022These Dry-erase markers have been a time saver for my students and myself. The students use the markers daily, during phonics and math practice. They also use the markers during small group practice and instruction.
I no longer have to worry about dry markers or damage markers because thanks to your donation, my students have enough markers to use for the rest of the academic year. My students can get a new marker right away if they are in need of a new marker.
My students love to use their dry-erase markers and dry erase boards to practice, and there are plenty to go around. This would not have been possible without your generosity.”

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Classroom Supporter and one other donor. The More That We READ, The More We Will KNOW!
Funded Nov 18, 2020We received the books and sight word workbooks just as the public schools reopened in our city. I was very excited to share these new materials with my students. The students are using the sight word workbooks during the school day to reinforce sight word knowledge. They also use the books during afterschool and even at home.
The students now have access to more books that target their reading levels thanks to the leveled book library. Students use the books during independent reading time. Furthermore, I use the books to implement guided reading groups that supports students to improve their reading level. The leveled book library has non-fiction books which my students are enjoying as I launch our non-fiction unit of study in reading.
My first graders are getting the support they need with access to these materials.”

Funded Jul 31, 2020When I created this project, there was a lot of uncertainty in regards to the reopening of schools. It was already known that there would be budget cuts. I, like many of my colleagues knew that in the event of the schools reopening, we would probably need resources to keep our students safe and continue with a positive learning environment. I started this project hoping that essential items to keep my students safe and healthy would be available in my classroom.
Thanks to your donations, I knew that I did not have to worry about having disinfectant wipes, tissue boxes, or cleaning spray to keep my classroom clean. My students are able to clean their tables with disinfectant wipes. Hand washing soap is always available when they need to wash their hands. I am also able to disinfect tables and other materials in the classroom with the cleaning items that we received.
Furthermore, I was able to share these items with the whole first grade which has become 3 small first grade classes. Your donations have provided me with a peace of mind, and helped my students have a safe and clean classroom environment.”

Funded Aug 20, 2020My students have benefited so much from this project. I was very excited to receive the items, knowing that my students will materials to use in the classroom and at home if needed. As planned, each student has their own caddie with the materials needed to engage in learning activities. The students have used the materials from the very first day of school when they completed their first directed drawing. The students have completed different tasks with these materials. From completing their own math books to masks to celebrate Halloween.
Due to the present rise of Covid-19 cases, my school has closed. I hope I will be able to send some of the items from this project to my students' homes soon, to ensure they have essential items to engage in learning at home.
Your generosity has made a difference in the learning experience of 30 bright first graders.”
With gratitude,
