Building Block of Computer Science
Funded Nov 28, 2023In our classroom, the integration of new resources has been truly transformative, especially in our exploration of computer science concepts. One particular project that stands out is when we delved into understanding arrays and strings through 3D modeling. By leveraging the power of 3D modeling software, my students were able to visualize abstract data structures in a tangible way, fostering a deeper comprehension of complex programming principles. The ability to manipulate these models in real-time allowed them to experiment with various scenarios, solidifying their understanding of how arrays and strings function within computer science.
When the students first laid eyes on the materials, their reactions were a mix of curiosity and excitement. The prospect of engaging with computer science concepts in a hands-on, interactive manner sparked their interest immediately. As they began experimenting with the magnatiles to physically move pieces representing arrays and strings, their enthusiasm only grew. It was evident from their reactions that the combination of 3D modeling and kinesthetic learning provided a dynamic learning experience that resonated with them on a profound level. Watching their initial awe transition into active exploration and understanding was truly rewarding as an educator.”

Funded May 9, 2023The integration of iPads into our classroom has significantly transformed the learning experience for my students. One notable advantage is the enhancement of note-taking, as students now have the ability to digitally capture and organize their thoughts in a more dynamic and interactive manner. This not only facilitates a more personalized approach to learning but also addresses the challenge of absent students by providing easy access to digital notes. The convenience extends to homework submissions, as students can seamlessly turn in assignments through the iPad, streamlining the process and reducing paperwork. The accessibility of student participation has also seen a remarkable improvement, as the iPad serves as a versatile tool that accommodates various learning styles and preferences.
What excites my students the most about the new product is the reliability and efficiency it brings to their daily tasks. The frustration of dealing with technology that lags or malfunctions has been replaced with a sense of empowerment. The reduced wait time to complete notes and assignments has been a game-changer, allowing them to focus more on the content and less on technical hurdles. The excitement stems from the realization that technology can be a seamless, supportive companion in their learning journey, enhancing both productivity and engagement in the classroom.”

One standout project involves the integration of these materials into interactive notebooks, where students are combining traditional note-taking with dynamic visual elements. The students have been using the provided scissors and other tools with enthusiasm, relishing the hands-on experience as they bring their ideas to life. A particularly inspiring moment occurred when the class embarked on creating a vision board to set their goals for the year. Witnessing the excitement in the room as each student carefully curated images and words to represent their aspirations was truly gratifying. The new resources not only facilitate academic expression but also empower students to articulate their personal and academic ambitions in a visually compelling manner.
The students' initial reaction to the materials was one of sheer delight. The prospect of incorporating more hands-on, visually stimulating elements into their learning experience generated palpable enthusiasm. Bring Color Back!
Funded Jan 1, 2023The most exciting aspect of the new printer for my students is its transformative impact on my ability to differentiate and organize student work effectively. The printer has become an invaluable tool in the classroom, allowing students to visually represent and present their ideas in a more dynamic and engaging way. The capability to create meaningful bulletin boards has particularly captured their enthusiasm, as it provides a collaborative space to showcase their collective efforts and fosters a sense of pride in their achievements. The newfound ability to organize their thoughts and projects with tangible, high-quality prints has enhanced the overall learning experience, making the educational journey more visually stimulating and rewarding.
Among my students, there has been a notable group who has especially embraced this new technology. These students are often those who thrive on visual learning and find creative expression to be a crucial component of their academic experience. They have seamlessly integrated the printer into their workflow, utilizing it not only for traditional assignments but also for personal projects that allow them to explore and communicate their ideas in innovative ways. The printer has proven to be a catalyst for these students, enabling them to express themselves more effectively and take ownership of their learning journey.”

We've Got to Move It, Move It!
Funded Jul 23, 2021I am beyond grateful for your donations that have helped me refurnish my classroom. I had many broken desk and these desk often made it difficult to for students to do collaborative activities. The students are grateful for the new classroom environment that allows them to work together in different size groups easily and effectively.
My students often ponder how they did the work previously in the other desks because having this new seating option has made my classroom have a different vibe. So much of school has not moved forward to the inquiry method of learning and many students are still seating independently which stifles questioning and learning. Inquiry is the basis of learning in order to have maximum retention.
Thank you for your kind donation. We have been able to use group work and inquiry much more effectively and the students have been improving. This is a win-win!”

Flexible Seating
Funded Dec 22, 2020When I received my first donation toward my project I was stunned. To then find out that my project was fully funded had me blown away. I am so grateful for the funding of this project. Once the students come back to school in person, they will get so much use out of the flexible seating. It is so important that kids feel comfortable and are in a great learning environment and funding of this project has helped ensure that.
This project was such a hit at my school that I had to hunt down the desks because it was misplaced due to other classes needing desks. The impact that this will have on my teaching and the students learning I don't think can be measured.”
