  • Sparking Imaginations: Hands-On Reading Adventures for Our Incredible Students!

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

I'm thrilled to share the impact your generosity has had on our classroom through the recent DonorsChoose project. The new resources have sparked enthusiasm in our students for reading, writing, phonics, decoding and mathematics. With the resources, I was able to create language arts and math centers for students to use their critical thinking skills, review learned objectives, continue skill-building and foster creativity.

The students' reactions to the hands-on centers was amazing. Their eyes lit up, and the room buzzed with excitement as they explored the decoding, phonics, sentence structure, and mathematics activities. This immediate engagement speaks volumes about the transformative effect your support has had on their eagerness to learn.

Your support not only opened doors to learning but set the stage for a collaborative and creative journey that will continue to unfold. Thank you for your belief in the power of education and for making this transformative experience possible for our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zapata

  • Empowering Young Writers

    Funded Jul 19, 2023

I am overjoyed to express my deepest gratitude for your generous contribution to our writing project. Your support has transformed our classroom into a vibrant space for writers. These tools have not only facilitated the writing process but have also become catalysts for independent thinking, collaborative learning, and the development of critical writing skills.

In our dedicated writing block, your support has introduced valuable skills such as grip and control, hand-eye coordination, alphabet knowledge, letter formation, left-to-right progression, simple spelling, storytelling and many many more! These resources have turned ordinary writing experiences into immersive journeys, allowing students to refine their craft, experiment with different writing styles, and cultivate their unique voices.

Your belief in the importance of writing as a fundamental skill has opened doors for our students, empowering them to become successful and well-rounded individuals. On behalf of our entire classroom, thank you for being a vital part of this incredible journey! Your generosity has made a significant difference in the lives of our students, and for that, we are truly grateful.”

We are overwhelmed with gratitude and excited to share the incredible impact your support has had on our students. The resources obtained through this project have enriched our teaching methods and broadened the horizons of our students in countless ways. The diverse array of engaging activities and interactive materials have inspired a deep love for learning, fostering a sense of curiosity and enthusiasm that I had not witnessed before.

  • Document Camera for Kindergarten Distant Learning

    Funded Nov 12, 2020

The students were finally able to utilize the technology for an ample amount of time. The item was received the last few days of school which means the students were not able to use the technology as much. All summer I was so anxious about having my students use the technology and the day finally arrived. The technology has resulted in allowing my students to keep practicing the skills needed for success through various educational applications. The students are still learning how to log in on their own using QR code. It is amazing to see how much they have progressed with the technology in just a handful of weeks. The majority of my students come from low socioeconomic homes so it is very difficult for the students to use technology at home to continue growing in their learning. The future is technology which means the students' future will revolve around technology which is why it is beneficial for them to learn how to use, work with and learn with technology. We are all extremely grateful for this opportunity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zapata

The document camera is something that is necessary for my students distant learning because I will be able show my kindergarten students penmanship techniques, hands on experiences, project based learning activities in the following content areas: reading, writing, science, math, social studies and English as a Second Language. With the document camera I will be able to teach live lessons and record the actual motion of pencil to paper handwriting. Handwriting is a necessary skill that students need to perfect in the early childhood grade levels to be able to carry on the skills to the upper grade levels and further on. Kindergarten students are in the stage of emergent literacy and in this stage of learning they need a lot of visual assistance and plenty of modeling to showcase how to write upper case and lower case letters and how to appropriately write whole numbers to perfect their penmanship.
