So many of my students need supplies for at home work. I will create packets with these items and deliver them so when we do our daily Zooms, each student will have the same items and be able to complete the work.
I am currently teaching Summer School and as we move into Fall, we will be doing am/pm/online sessions, so I need items that I can keep in the classroom and take home so I can continue teaching without interruptions. I have taken home many items but then there’s nothing left on campus to teach. And I can't keep taking items back and forth as I also have a 2 & 4 year old at home, and juggling daycare drop-offs. Also, I want my students education to be as seamless as possible, so I would like to send home starter packs filled with items that we would also have on campus. Many of my students don’t have simple items at home and they aren’t able to complete the task, which leaves them just sitting there not learning or participating. This leads to behaviors such as bouncing in their chair, attempting to leave the area, yelling, screaming, sometimes parents just log them off instead. So they lose a lot of instruction time.
These materials will help students continue learning through school closures and other scheduling uncertainties related to COVID-19.
