The materials requested in this Donors Choose project are to benefit our entire school population. Our garden is in need of some new beds for growing plants. A wheelbarrow and wagon are needed to help move dirt and plants. Our outdoor classroom also needs a whiteboard to assist with garden instruction. All students use the garden and are able to plant, cultivate, and consume produce. A garden is an inclusive place, a place of peace and tranquility where everyone belongs and is part. Considering the constraints we will face when returning to school this year it will be comforting for students to know they can still use our school garden and enjoy being outdoors to learn. This will be a welcomed part of every student's day. Students love inviting the community to experience the wonderful vegetables they have cultivated and the flowers they have grown. They love learning about composting, plants, pollinators, and harvesting and sharing this with others in the community. We know students will want to invite the community to see what they have done with the garden and to celebrate that we can once again gather in groups.
