There is something special about small-town schools. With small graduating class sizes (my school only has one or two sections for each grade level), students tend to form close bonds with their entire class. They grow up together, from kindergarten to their high school graduation, sharing each other's joys and disappointments. In such a small town, school events turn into a community get-together for the entire area. The staff knows every single student that walks up and down the halls. In a way, you become very much a family.
