Understanding molecular geometry in high school chemistry is important for students. By understanding the shapes of the various molecules students are better able to understand how they form and how they react with one another in nature. Additionally, the models in this project would allow students to get a true picture of what the molecules actually look like given that they will be working in groups of two to build the various molecules and will be able to see what they truly look like. A two dimensional model on paper does not give students a great visual but the models do. Additionally, the models will allow the students learn by doing. Stioichiometry is beginning to get to the meat of chemistry and many students struggle with it. The stiochiometry kit will help students learn stiochiometry a lot easier.
