I am wanting to encourage my students this year to explore diverse books and multiculturalism. It's important to offer diverse books within my classroom to allow students to step into the shoes of others and have a buffer from their reality. Not only does diverse books teach people about others but it can help students feel good about those parts of themselves. We need Diverse Books within our classroom to promote empathy that reflects and honors the lives of diverse people. My classroom will be participating in #ClassroomBookADay challenge. With a goal to read aloud a picture book every day of the school year. With your support this will be a great start to introduce and offer diverse titles for my first graders. We are utilizing a #ClassroomBookADay goal to positively affect student learning within my classroom. With your help and support we can take step towards promoting empathy and respect through diverse books!
