My amazIng first graders deserve to see themselves in the books that we read at school. I created this project in hopes to add diversity in my classroom library. I want to create a more inclusive library where my students can see themselves in the books that we read and they are able to learn more about the world and cultures around them. This project is so important to me because I feel like teachers have an added responsibility to teach our students how to be allies for each other and create a better world than the one we are living in now. I believe the best is yet to come and our students are our future!
