My students come from backgrounds where they have not usually been introduced to things that involve finances including budgeting, setting financial goals, balancing accounts etc. I feel this is a very important life skills for my students to have and try to make my personal finance class something my students can carry with them. The projects I created in this class teach my students real life situations.

Thank you for donating to my classroom. My students come from very diverse backgrounds, most from trauma and poverty. While they are in my classroom they live in a residential care and treatment program. While their needs are met there, it can be another traumatic experience for them. I try very hard to make my classroom a safe, calm space for my students and give them supports to help them use their coping strategies. Your donation helped me to give them those things and I cannot express enough how much they loved to help me open the packages as they came in.

Thank you for helping me make my classroom a space my students can feel comfortable, safe, secure, and welcomed. We do a lot of reading in my classroom and it is amazing to see them curled up in a comfy chair reading a book. They also have a nice, quiet space to be able to go and calm themselves down when they are experiencing high anxiety. Teaching my students how to use coping strategies and calm is so important. It makes such a big difference in their success in and out of my classroom. Thank you for supporting them!”
Thank you for donating to my "Beautiful Creations" fund raising for my classroom. My students love to do art and be creative! They decorated water bottles for their first project with the paints which were donated. We did a paint pour over the bottles. They students loved to see the process. They were so happy to be able to take something home with them. Thank you for providing the supplies to help my students create things they can feel proud of. We look forward to creating many more art projects throughout this school year!”
Thank you for donating to my classroom. You make such a difference in the lives of my students. My students come from trauma. Many of them come from homes where their basic needs were not met. When they come to my classroom and are able to sit and read in comfortable chairs, or wrap blankets around them when they are feeling insecure in changes them. They begin to feel safe and supported, they start enjoying reading, and they begin to trust in the staff and flourish as a student.

Because I have such a diverse population and students, and I encourage reading in my classroom, it is important to me to have a big selection of books. My students do not have access to a school library so the I have been working very hard to build my classroom library. I feel it is important for my students to find books that represent them, they feel connected to, and enjoy reading. Your donations to this project helped me purchase a lot of books that represent my students. It is so fun to watch the excitement when I put books on the "new books" shelf. The students can't wait to get up and look through them to find a new book to read.

Your donation has helped supply some basic needs the students in my program have, along with helping me to provide a reward system the students find meaningful and work for. My students often to not have access to the items which were included in the project and it gives the a feeling of importance to be provided with things that are special. It is amazing to see my students flourish and grow when their needs are met and they feel like someone cares about them. Something so little as being able to use their points to buy a package of cookies can change their day.
