Reading Into First Grade!
Funded May 19, 2021Last school year was like no other. Our kindergarten students attended school for the first time virtually. From phonics to math and everything in between was virtual. But thanks to your gift out students were able to
receive physical books that prepared and excited them for the new school year. Seeing our students drive thru for their kinder graduation and become filled with excitement when they received their books, well words are not enough to express how thankful we are to you, and the joy you helped spread.”

Distance Learning Basics & Books
Funded Jul 7, 2020School looks different this year but my Kindergarten class was blessed with your generous gift! At the beginning of the school year I was able to purchase pencil cases to give to all of my students, but with your help I was able to give them all pencils, erasers, color pencils, pencil sharpeners, and a dry erase sleeve with a marker along with so many books.
Before school began, I was able to read one of the given books with an amazing teacher friend that helped our students understand why it was we were not seeing other people, "Paula and the Pandemic." This helped us start to establish relationships with our students in the world of distance learning. It opened up conversations between parents and students as to why we were in distance learning.
With your generous donation, my students have tools accessible to succeed in school, while we are learning from home. Our daily tool is our white erase sleeve, we use it daily in our phonics lesson, I know that if it would not have been for your support my students would have run out of paper to write on, but because of you my students have the ability to practice their writing skills every day, which is why around 80% of my students are consistently meeting mastery on every spelling test given.
During thematic unit they use the pencils and color pencils to add labels and details to their narrative stories, helping them become great writers.
From the bottom of my heart I appreciate the blessing you gave me and my students, to set the up for success in this chaotic time. You have helped me plant the seed and the fruits of our labor will grow because of you!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Tapia
