As a first year teacher it is a pleasure to serve and support families from low income households (over 70% economically disadvantaged at my school). The materials being requested will allow me to provide students with basic classroom supplies. This, in turn, will relieve the economic burden that parents may feel in regards to back-to-school shopping. In addition it will better prepare myself, as I need basic supplies to start off as well. Additional school supplies will be needed this year, as each student must have their own. School re-openings due to COVID-19 will eliminate the possibility of sharing school supplies with classmates. Each of my 30 students needs a basic school box full of crayons, pencils, markers, erasers, glue, etc. In addition as a first year teacher, I will benefit from classroom essentials such as staples, markers, sharpies, sticky notes, and etc. I will be teaching the following subject areas in Spanish: Reading, Writing, and Social Studies. Furthermore, I will provide English Language Arts instruction. In all areas, students, and I need the basic supplies mentioned above. It is important that we provide students with opportunities to brighten their learning with colors and practice fine motor skills with glue sticks. As a kindergarten teacher it is my responsibility to continue to foster such developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Your contribution is significant and highly appreciated, as it will provide my students and I with the necessary supplies to enrich their learning experiences. Gracias!
