As a first year teacher, I’m starting from scratch. I'm trying to build a great classroom library, and make sure that the students have access to essential materials that they will need to learn how to read, do math, and engage in social-emotional learning. If you are in a position do so, I would really appreciate your help funding any of these items. Below is an explanation of the items on the list: - Markers: for all writing activities. - Printer: for prepping all activities. - Big Joe Kid's Milano Smartmax, Pink Passion - Laminator: for prepping all activities. - Dry Erase Markers: especially useful for letter writing and math activities. - Bins: to organize manipulatives and books. - Whiteboards: useful for teaching foundational writing. - Magnetic Letters and Numbers: for teaching encoding, decoding, and sight words. - Mesh Pouches: to ensure COVID-safety in the classroom so that all students can have individual materials. - Foam Blocks: for play-time. - Laminating Sheets: for prepping all activities. - Magnetic Tens Frames: to teach one-to-one correspondence in math and addition up to 20. - First Little Readers Levels A, B, and C: for guided reading groups in our literacy blocks. - Pencil Sharpener: for writing. - Pencil Grips: for writing - especially important for students returning from online learning who are not used to writing with pencils. - Kinetic Sand: for both play and letter construction. - I Am Enough: book for our library that teachers social-emotional learning. - A Letter From Your Teacher - On the First Day of School: book about navigating the first day of school. - Foam Dice: helps with subitizing and counting. - Magnets: so that I can hang anchor charts. - CVC Word-Building Cards: for foundational reading skills. - Stapler, pushpins, cardstock: essential supplies.
