In a perfect classroom there would be brand new one to one technology for each and every child. However, that is not always the case. In my current school, the ratio for students to technology is currently 3:1. The technology that has been provided to us is greatly appreciated but is very outdated and falling apart (Dell Laptops). A new classroom set of iPads will not only supplement the technology already provided by the school, but it will also prepare my primary students for their future years in education. I believe that learning how to use technology in the classroom should start as early as pre-k. Currently, almost everything we need is dependent on technology, I think this is more than enough of a reason for my students to have access to new and exciting technology. The sudden change that Covid-19 has brought upon my school helped me to realize that 1) our students lacked resources and 2) I want my students to be better prepared/equipped if we suddenly have to transition back to distance learning this upcoming school year. My students will use iPads daily to learn how to use apps such as Google Classroom and SeeSaw to transfer that knowledge to distance learning (and possibly teach their parents). It is very important to me that my students have an equal opportunity to learn with/use technology.
