There will be lots of changes in the fall. Change is inevitable, but I want to insure my students come back to school feeling safe, loved, and valued. I would like to make some fun, individualized masks for the kids to wear. I will sew them and let the kids decorate them our first days back together. When we return to the building wearing masks this fall, I think it may be difficult for the students to hear me as well as I’d like them to. This sound system will magnify my voice to allow the students to hear me better from a distance. With the uncertainty of not knowing if and when we might have to stay at home, I’d like for each child to have a “bag of supplies” that stays in their backpacks so that they will have all the supplies they may need while at home. With all that we’ve learned this summer about race, and the need to learn more about different cultures, I’d like to add a more diverse collection of books to my classroom, from my daily read alouds, to books that the students read independently. In order to accomplish that, I need to add good quality books to my class library. With the possibility of distance learning occurring at some point, I feel I need some additional resources to keep students engaged and learning from home. Teachers Pay Teachers is an amazing resource for teachers to find these kind of resources. They are created by teachers who are working and learning with the rest of us.
