Building an Electromagnet
Funded Sep 25, 2022This project was fantastic. My students felt so cool building an electromagnet. Having materials out like batteries and wires and wire cutters definitely excited them and helped that knowledge stick with them. Because of projects like this one, my students test scores for 2nd quarter were the highest scores that I have ever had. These types of hands on experiences are so incredibly beneficial for students to retain knowledge and it would not be possible for me to provide those experiences without the help of donors like you! On behalf of me and my students, thank you!”

Frog Dissection Kits for 8th Graders!
Funded May 24, 2022Doing a frog dissection was INCREDIBLE! The majority of my students had never done anything close to something like this and they were so excited to do it. I have never seen students so focused and engaged. It was one of the best days of my career.
Something I struggle with constantly is finding a way to get my students to see themselves as scientists. They are typical teenagers and approach everything with a little bit of an attitude, but they were so excited for this. The unbridled enthusiasm that they had putting on goggles and gloves and looking at the frogs was amazing.
This experience will definitely stick in their minds and was great for our comparative anatomy unit, but hopefully the lasting effect will be that they can see themselves as the true scientists that they are and launch some of them into STEM careers some day. I sincerely think that this could have been a life changing experience for some of these students and I can't thank you enough for providing that for my kids!”

Funded Sep 17, 2022Thank you so much for funding this project! My students and I so deeply appreciate your support. I can’t wait to use these magnets with my students and watch their understanding of non-contact forces grow through hands-on experience. You’ve made a huge difference for us today!”
