  • Struggling Readers Need Phonics in Their Lives

    Thank you so much for donating to my project. I was able to purchase books to help my struggling readers. These books provide a structured language program for teaching reading, spelling, and handwriting using multi-sensory techniques. It is an effective beginning reading program for all children, especially struggling readers. These books prevent reading failure in children at risk for learning difficulties.

    The students use these books during guided reading and are able to take them home. I also provided workshops for parents to use these books at home.

I would like to purchase materials and educational games to create enrichment centers around my classrooms that help my students meet their academic needs. Hands-on learning centers encourage kids to build skills and explore their creativity. These centers will be used to reach all of my students and will challenge those students that are performing above grade level and help those that need extra support. Not every student will understand a concept right away, so it is important that they have a place where they can go for further help. Enrichment centers can be set up in the classroom and may include a visual display of the information, hands-on activities, additional books on the topic, or a step-by-step explanation guide of the concept. Enrichment centers will not only make learning fun for my students but will help them meet their academic goals.
