We are so thankful for your generous donations! Once again, partnering with Donor’s Choose will provide necessary materials, specifically paper this time, for my students. • Back to the Basics!

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you, donors, for supporting our paper drive! In this age where education is technology-driven, I encourage my third graders to do paper and pencil work most of the time! They spend so much time staring at a screen. I intentionally give them opportunities to write down their thoughts and fill in answers on paper. They learn to take notes effectively and efficiently so they can explain concepts in their own words or use the notes on quizzes. They have the choice to publish their work in their best handwriting or type it and print it out. They draw pictures for fun and illustrate stories. So many options with a blank piece of paper!

    Again, thank you!!”

    Mrs. Dippre

  • Keeping It Clean!

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

WOO HOO!!!! My students will be so excited because they helped put together this project!! They are a remarkable group and really take pride in keeping our classroom clean! They chose vacuums that they have at home and assured me they would work great!! This was my favorite project to create because of that!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dippre

This classroom project was brought to life by The Arizona Department of Education and 3 other donors.
  • Getting All Hands in the Game!

    Funded Sep 2, 2022

Once again, partnering with Donor's Choose has provided opportunities that my class would not have otherwise experienced. As stated in my project, COVID years insisted that we step back from teaching with manipulatives and hands-on activities. Online learning became the expectation, which pulled us away from best teaching practices..

In this project, my goal was to provide opportunities for the kids to "Get All Hands in the Game" again! They love moving pieces around, playing games that make them contemplate and solve problems, and working together on really anything!

We are truly grateful for your generosity and your commitment to education. These kids will potentially do great things for us all in the future!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dippre

  • Learning FUN...Inside and Out!

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Because of your generosity, my Third Grade Gifted Students experience Hands-On, Brain-Stretching Activities daily! They exercise their bodies and minds at recess while playing with the games from this Donor's Choose Project. They also work on skills like hand-eye coordination and problem-solving. A group of students even came up with our own classroom rules for 4-square because they needed to set some expectations to ensure the game was fair and that everyone got adequate playing time.

Our inside games and activities challenge their brains and encourage social interaction. The kids work hard every day and they look forward to brain breaks and the end of the day when they can get out these activities and just play! What they don't realize is that this is also a time for social-emotional learning, practice with hand-eye coordination, and problem-solving. As their teacher, it's one of my favorite parts of the day, too!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dippre

  • Our Classroom Siri

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Technology is such an important piece in our classroom. Although I prefer peer-to-peer interaction and hands-on learning, I know it is vital that these young people familiarize themselves with technology usage. These Chromebooks have been key to their online learning. We have used them for research, online reading, learning games, and more! Typically, the kids are grouped in pairs or more so that learning collaboration occurs. Specifically, for example, our class wrote a President's Day play that focused on Mt. Rushmore. The kids researched the faces of Mt. Rushmore and other presidents to get material for the script and they performed for the other classes in our school as well as parents and administration. Projects like this can happen with your support!”

  • Run, Jump, Catch, Repeat

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Playing is so much fun! And with your generous donations, we get to play with purpose at recess. In first grade, kids are just beginning to learn recess games like kickball, four square, flag football, basketball, etc. They are learning to hula hoop and jump rope. The equipment you funded has been well used! The kids have even learned to independently pump up the basketballs, kickballs, and footballs! They have taken ownership of our athletic equipment and even have allowed the older grades borrow, as long as everything is returned!!”

These book sets will give my students an opportunity to read about the history of our country, our community, and the world in which we live. The more we can relate these to their own lives, the more they internalize their history and the world around them. I believe that leads them to care, which will lead them to become productive members of our society. We are teaching future leaders and I take this responsibility seriously. When we empower these kids, they will care enough to do something good for our world!
