Our students worked tirelessly last year to build an outdoor space for learning. They pulled weeds, built a stone walking path, and even made a small wooden teaching platform. We are now in need of seating so we can fully utilize our outdoor classroom setting. The school is located in a remote village of Alaska where facilities and resources are limited. Having these seats will allow students more functional space for learning. Students will be using the seats for a variety of purposes. Some days you may find them scattered in the grassy field as students are independently reading. Other days they can be used to gather around and watch a presentation on the outdoor platform. They are also able to take the seats on a hike and use them for lunch breaks and short lessons. These seats are so versatile, they can even be used as a flexible seating option in the classroom. Having a seating option where students can learn in a variety of settings, including the great outdoors, only opens up more opportunities for experiential education. Please give our students the opportunity for more engaging and enjoyable options in their school. Thank you very much for your consideration.
