A Helping Hand Goes A Long Way

Funded Aug 4, 2020

My students have been able to organize their work in separate folders. They have their red folders for writing the blue folders for math and the green folders for science. Before they received their folders work was often scattered in their desks. They weren't able to find their work. Now, they know that the writing folders are just for the writing pieces, the math folder is for math assignments and the science folder is for their science assessments. The folders have shown my students how to stay organized.

My students were surprised to receive the materials, but they were very grateful. I'm also very grateful. A majority of my students needed the materials because the pandemic left many parents without jobs. Therefore they weren't able to purchase the materials they needed.

The next steps for my students is to learn how to keep their folders in an orderly fashion. That means only work that was recently completed will be kept in the folders. Old work (work that is more than two months old will be filed or taken home). These organizational skills are skills that my students will be able to use throughout the years.”

With gratitude,
