Asking a fifth grader to sit at a traditional desk and chair for a 55-minute math lesson is a tall order. In our classroom, we work in small groups that allow for peer collaboration, and individualized learning support and enrichment. However, we would like to step it up a notch and provide seating options that support the natural movement needs of each child. Help my fifth-graders get up, stand-up, bounce, wobble, and kick back while becoming the future mathematicians of the world! Students should feel that their classroom is tailored to ensure their academic and social-emotional success. Your donations will support not only our students with sensory needs but every child in the classroom. Research has proven that children who are encouraged to be active during learning will retain content and stay engaged with their learning with less stress and anxiety than a traditional classroom environment. Let's get these kids moving!
