Yoga in PE
Funded Aug 26, 2024I can not thank you enough for your support in supplying this valuable PE equipment. With the cold, windy, and rainy weather my student were finally able to break open these mats and have their first yoga lesson. We recently talked about the importance of breathing. They kids are excited to try a new physical skill that doesn't involve speed, but instead focuses a lot on mindfulness.
The students got to break open the package and loved knowing they were the very first to use these materials. It was so special.
As we continue in this new year, once a week we will be adding each week a new stretch to our sequence. We started with just about four stretches and the kids are already realizing how difficult it is to move through a full sequence. It going to be fun couple of months building our flexibility and deepening our breathing techniques.”

Hook Those Readers!
Funded Jan 14, 2025I can't believe we are receiving all these books! My students are going to be beyond excited. I appreciate each and everyone of you for your support of my class and helping me find relevant books for these incredible kids. It's so important that they have books that are meaningful and current and you've helped make that happen. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!”

Funded Apr 1, 2023I can not thank you enough for your support this year. The access to current news and content through Time 4 Kids magazine has been wonderful.
We've been using them weekly to engage in close reading strategies that help students tackle text that may be challenging. Students are now looking to be changed and surprised by the content they are reading. They are excited when they find themselves confused because they know the author may have been assuming something about them as an audience. They can try to figure out what that assumption was in order to better understand what they are reading. It's a teacher's dream!
I also believe getting off our devices has been beyond valuable. It's hard to get older kids off their computers and phones. The paper copies have simply been a lifesaver. Being able to say "Close your computers," has provided a more engaging and collaborative classroom. Needless to say, we love our Time 4 Kids! Thank you so much!”

Funded Jun 20, 2020My students have absolutely loved reading Trevor Noah's book " Born a Crime." They are learning about perspective, point of view and life long themes that make personal connections in their own lives.
The ability to have a book in their hands during Covid has also been received with thanks by their parents. The opportunity to be off screen means a lot.
While reading either as a class or in their literature circles, the impact of this book on the lives of these 10 and 11 year olds has been great. I can not thank you enough for the donation toward our class.”
