I am looking to add more diversity to the classroom library. I have already begun to purchase more diverse picture books to read aloud to my students. I am interested in more books that students will be able to read on their own. I have chosen books based on my students' reading levels. I have also chosen books that reflect the diversity in my classroom. By donating to this project, you will help increase students' engagement in reading because they will see themselves reflected in the books they read. I am also looking to use some of these books, the biographies for example, to supplement our social studies curriculum. I want to make sure I am teaching students all sides of history and these books will help me to do that. I have found that students become very invested in biographies like the You Should Meet series.
