The level of success that my students can achieve is dependent on the kind of support they receive at school. Effective teaching strategies coupled with the valuable resources or materials in the classroom can help them improve their reading, math, and writing skills. My students who have difficulty processing visual and auditory information can benefit from completing writing assignments, tutorial lessons, and drills and practice work with the aid of computers. A standard word processor, for example, can be a valuable tool for my students who struggle with spelling, grammar, mechanics, and handwriting. Also, educational software where the computer provides multi-sensory experiences, interaction, and positive reinforcement, individualized instruction, and repetition can be useful in skill-building. Most importantly. text to speech computer applications and electronic forms with enlarged character and voice synthesis devices can help my students with reading difficulties complete grade-level work.
