I am a Special Education teacher and teach intermediate elementary students with Autism and Specific Learning Disabilities. My students LOVE to learn almost anything and work hard to reach their IEP (Individual Education Plan) goals and move toward being more independent learners. Unfortunately, the curriculum that I am required to use is either at grade level (which does not help students who are 2 to 3 grade levels below what is required for them to be independent in their respective grades), or seriously lacking any substance. I would like to teach from something that they would enjoy and that has been shown through the years to educate both academically and morally.
