• Re-Decorating the Room

  Thank you for your continued support of my classroom! The bookshelf has helped me to expand my classroom library and create a comfortable reading space for students to sit and read. Additionally, the tapestry and poster has helped to make the space even more comfortable for students.

  Since redoing my room, with both this project and my other funded project where I received new bean bag chairs, more students have been engaging with my classroom library and using the space to read. This will increase literacy and help them to become better readers and thinkers.

• Refreshing the Space

  Thank you so much for choosing to support my classroom! Your donations made it possible for me to get new furniture and decorations for my classroom to create a welcoming space for my students.

  The tapestry helps to brighten up my calming corner and the big grey chair is the kids' new favorite place to sit! It helps kids who are having an "off" day to relax and get their work done. Additionally, the posters help to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for the kids when they walk into class each day.

• Keeping a Comfortable Space

• Fun with Fidgets!

  Thank you so much for your contributions to my classroom! My students were so excited to see the new fidgets. Many of them struggle to stay seated in class and need to keep a fidget at their desk to stay at their desks and be focused. They especially love using the Etch-a-Sketch and sensory timers! Some of them had never seen an Etch-a-Sketch before and enjoyed learning how to use it!

  I also put some of the new fidgets in my calming corner to help students relax when they need a break from class. Adding these items has really helped them when they take a "time out" to de-stress and helps them return to their work feeling relaxed and ready to learn!

• Flexible Seating!

  Thank you so much for funding my flexible seating project! My middle school students were so excited when they saw the materials arrived and couldn't wait to try out the new chairs and fidgets!

  I've been using the flexible seating as both an incentive and behavior intervention during my classes. While all my classes enjoy the chairs, my 6th graders especially love being able to choose a fun seat to sit in while they work! I've also been able to upgrade the chair in my calming corner so kids who need a break or some space can stay comfortable and relaxed. The fidgets help them to stay focused and keep their hands to themselves.

  Thank you again to all of you for your donations and support with this project! I'm so glad my students were able to get the flexible seating this year. I already have ideas for how I want to organize the flexible seating in my classroom for next school year as well!
