My 3-K early childhood education program is a Title 1 school located in Harlem. 90% of my students receive free lunch and are English Language Learners. My 3-K students learn through hands-on experiences and social interactions with their peers and teachers. Due to COVID 19, these learning experiences were no longer an option and I was forced to look for creative and engaging ways to interact with my students remotely. My students and I participate three times a week in Zoom meetings. We do our unit of study and check in with each other. To record the read-aloud, math, science, and interactive lessons, I use my personal cell phone. Having a camera would help me record my lessons so that my students and their families can learn the concept that is being taught. Being able to record these educational videos would also help my students and families that are English Language Learners. If I was to have a camera, I would also be able to record these lessons in both English and Spanish. My students and their families also depend on the recorded lesson’s so they learn and model the units of study at home. Unfortunately, my cell phone overheats and doesn't have the capability to record several videos at a time. With this camera, I would be able to allow my students to have some social engagements with me while remote learning in a fun and interactive way this upcoming September.
