  • Mice for Math Class Computers

    Funded May 2, 2024

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for providing the computer mice for my classroom. They have been a tremendous help in allowing my students to use the Chromebooks more efficiently and access a wider variety of digital math problems and programs.

This simple addition has made a significant impact, as my students are now completing more assignments than ever before. It's been wonderful to see them engaged and making progress in their learning.

I'm truly grateful for your support and generosity. It makes a big difference in helping my students succeed, and I appreciate you taking the time to ensure my classroom has the resources it needs.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rogers

  • Revitalizing Class Calculators

    Funded May 11, 2022

Thank you for your generous support of our classroom! The calculators arrived in time for final reviews and exams and the students were so excited to see them! All of my students now have access to calculators that are required on standardized tests and other class materials.

These calculators help our classroom management strategies and allow students to use the hand-held calculator instead of a cell-phone calculator or other potentially distracting device. Students are more focused on their work and have 1 less school item to worry about purchasing with limited funds.

These calculators will be used throughout our school and will make a profound impact at the end of this year and for years to come.

    Thank you!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rogers

  • Math-Magical Castle Creations

    Funded Dec 13, 2021

Thank you for supporting Math-Magical Castle Creations! My students are so excited for their next creative project. These resources will continue to be used for math creations throughout my school and classes.

My students were giddy with excitement when they saw the supplies all laid out for the first time. The castles they created amazed both students and teachers alike. Checkout the photos for some serious math inspiration.

Next, my students will calculate all of the surface areas and volumes for their castles as their test grade for our final unit of the year. My next goal is to have a community walk through of their castles and show off their hard work from throughout the year.”

  • Podcasting the Possibilities

    Funded Feb 7, 2022

With the sound proofing for the study rooms, professional level podcasting opportunities have grown! Since set-up there have been well over 50 appointments for students that have been filled, some days each hour in both rooms are bustling with recordings of songs, podcasts, voice overs, and more.

Students and their teachers immediately said the quality of their recordings have improved. They loved the new level the space has taken their projects. Normally echo-y and hard to hear recordings are now crisp and clear. Teachers love letting their students create with this option now because they know they will get great projects!

Next steps for this project include using the space to facilitate more recording options with other students. Intro to acting is working on a unit now where they practice strong voice control by creating podcasts and are using the rooms, as well as more research units across subjects.”

  • You Have to See It to Believe It!

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you for the supplies that aid my students in creating their own mathematical memories! Students are in the process of creating their own wanted posters for mathematicians, as well as daily activities we do in class that include colorful graphing and more!

Students are so excited when they see an abundance of art supplies in their math classroom - they know it is going to be a fun day when they see them out. Students love using the paper to make showing their work more colorful and organized!

Next steps for these supplies include filling the classroom with student art centered around mathematical concepts - hopefully filling the hallway as well!

Thank you again for supporting my classroom and getting our students back into "normal" learning activities!”

  • Creating Geometry in Style!

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Thank you for these amazing resources! As we have now learned the basics of geometry, my students are starting to apply it to more real-life problems. In doing so, they need to create mathematical representations using these tools!

We are so excited for the biggest upcoming use of these tools - creating our own tessellations and fractals! My students will be able to create their own mathematical art thanks to you! The markers, paper, scissors, colored pencils, and more are just what my students want to see in their classroom.

We have also used these tools to make posters for the one-way hallways in our building - helping to mitigate the spread of germs and providing some colorful reminders of the safety protocols for our math tools.”

  • High Quality Virtual Instruction Tools

    Funded Aug 13, 2020

Thank you for the virtual tools! The ring light and microphone made a world of difference during our live classes as well as instructional videos. I use the Apple Pencil almost daily during our classes with my iPad for notes, examples, annotating, and much more. The iPad stand has been very useful when live streaming classes to students at home - I can even set it up on their desk so it's like they are sitting in their own seat.

My students have commented how much they love having annotated notes and videos published on their learning management system, which would not be possible without these tools! Not only are these items necessary for students who are learning remotely, they provide more resources for students in class. Students can use the short instructional videos as reviews before a test, or if they forget a process, I can easily refer them to the video. These tools have saved me time as well, as I can direct students to the notes and videos for assistance - which answer most of their questions.

Without your support, my students would not be nearly as confident or self-reliant as they have become during this time of new learning!”

    Mrs. Rogers

  • Hands on Learning in a Hands Off Era

    Funded Jul 31, 2020

Thanks to you, my students have been given access to tools they would not have access to outside of school and have only just begun to utilize them to their fullest potential. My students are seeing just how useful math can be in the outside world and the careers they can make with it.

The large sized tools allow me to demonstrate how to use them for the whole class to see, in a safe manner. No longer am I able to go around to each student and spend a significant amount of time with them showing them how to use a protractor and compass. Now, thanks to these tools, I can display it on the whiteboard and my students can follow along. The tools for students are plastic and easy to disinfect between classes, instead of the older wood compasses.

In the coming semester, my students will dive deeper into the different topics of geometry, from triangles and the pythagorean theorem to circles. We will create the mathematics as they learn using these tools. The giant sticky notes are super useful for students to be able to create larger representations of their work to display in a temporary manner without using expensive poster board for smaller caliber projects.

Thank you to the donors of this project for kickstarting my classroom! Without your support, my students would not be where they are today!”

I am a new teacher, thus looking to start out my available manipulatives for my classroom. Cleaning supplies are a common need during this time and my class is no exception. However, I am focusing more on tools and materials that my students can use and then wipe down for the next class. I believe mathematics is best learned hands on and I am doing my best to create that learning environment safely! Post its and easel pads will allow my students to make big connections and share them from a safe distance. Plastic protractors and compasses will allow my students to sanitize the tools they will need to be hands on. My goal is to make in person instruction days different and more exciting - that way my students look forward to coming to class and are more likely to be engaged. These products will help me reduce the amount of time I do math in front of my students and increase the amount of time they spend doing the math themselves.
