  • High-Interest Classroom Library

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

Thank you so much! The students and I cannot thank you enough. You will be adding some wish list books to our little library and hopefully helping to foster and ignite a love a literature in the kids. The increasingly diverse student population is becoming reflected more and more in the titles on the shelf. I know the students are going to be excited to see the books start to roll in.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lows

  • Classroom Library: Anti-Racist

    Funded Jul 7, 2020

Thank you all so much! I’m excited to share these resources with my students. There is no time like the present to ensure that our youth are not only surrounded by books that reflect their lives, but provide a window into others. We could not do this without your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lows

  • Literary Representation: A Library that Reflects All Students

    Funded Jun 30, 2020

Thank you all so much for donating to my project. I am excited to expose my students to a variety of literature that both mirrors their lives and creates a window into others. The time for change is now and there is no better places than to start with our students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lows

I want my students to see themselves on the shelves of our classroom library. I want students to be exposed to the perspectives of their classmates. I want the books we surround ourselves with to reflect who my students are as readers and writers. The books requested in this project will help us have more choices and diversity in our classroom library. They will help represent a population of students who have been underrepresented in literature for generations. The books represent the variety of students and their varying ability levels. I hope to surround my students with a library that fosters both intellectual discussion and respectful discourse.
