  • I Relax and I Learn

    Funded Jun 20, 2017

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support of our project! We are using the wobble stool every day. The stool helps keep some students more focused on their work by allowing movement. The video rocker and chair are used for reading time right now. They will be used for more and more subjects as students are able to handle the freedoms of seating choice.

When I took the video rocker out of the box, the class just gathered around and wanted to touch it. They all kept asking the student sitting in it if it was comfortable. They are very excited to have their turn! They love the options of the other seating also.

Next for us is to talk about our group expectations are for using these wonderful new gifts. I think we will continue to expand our flexible seating choices for students so that might continue to learn and grow. Thank you again for your help and encouragement.”

  • Just the Facts, Ma'am

    Funded Dec 27, 2014

Thank you so much for supporting our class project. We are very excited to try out our new ebooks! We love reading and learning about new things. The books we have requested are about our favorite subject--animals and animal life!

We read every day in our classroom for "Read to Self" time. It is difficult to find good quality materials that students will enjoy. These books are all non-fiction, which appeal to many students. We have many paper books that we read, but also have found some websites with books we can read.

Thank you again for your support! Have a Happy New Year!”

  • Cool Composting for Kids!

    Funded May 2, 2013

We are so excited to receive funding for our composting project! We are learning about taking care of the earth and its resources, so this project will help us connect that learning with a real life example!

We will be using the compost bin to learn more about ways to help decrease the amount of impact we have on our environment and what to do with the compost.

It is a wonderful experience for all the students to be able to see from start to finish a way they can impact their world and their environment. It is recycling at its best!

Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts--we appreciate your thoughts and donations!”

  • Multicultural Art Supplies For Everyone!

    Funded Apr 3, 2013

Thank you so very much for your generosity in donating to our classroom project, Multicultural Supplies for Everyone!. My students were very excited when I informed them that our project was fully funded. When the box arrived in the mail, I could hardly contain them--we absolutely had to take a short break to use our new supplies!

It was wonderful to see so many of my students excited and engaged. The short "break" turned into a wonderful discussion about how we are all different in some ways but yet, how we are all the same in many other ways. To see the students drawing pictures of themselves and being able to choose colors that more realistically resemble them was a wonderful, wonderful moment.

I wish you could have seen their faces as they used the supplies. Please know that you have made a difference in the lives of my students. Thank you again!”

  • Give Us a Little Time!

    Funded Oct 13, 2012

Thank you very much for helping to fund our project. We have received the timers and they are being used every day! Students are now able to practice their reading whenever they want and do not have to wait for a timer to be free. They are improving on their reading vocabulary and speed with every practice.

Our school is much the same as many others, experiencing tough financial times, so without your support I would not have been able to give my students this opportunity. Reading fluency is an important indicator of reading achievement so thank you for the reading boost you have given us!”

  • We Don't Need Guts!

    Funded Jan 19, 2012

Thank you so much for your support and donations to our project! Our class has already named our skeleton "Bob" and he is a popular "person" to sit near during work time in our classroom! Having the human body models for the students to look at close-up and actually be able to touch and point and explore the skeleton, the brain, the lungs and the human head is so vital to inspiring them to learn more about the human body.

I know that you have inspired, encouraged or just delighted the future doctors, surgeons and vets! As I watch the kids check out the models and then try to figure out what they are looking at and what it does, I am simply humbled by people like all of you who think outside their own world and give to others that they have never met. Please know that my students and I are both very grateful for your generosity. ”

  • Science - Plant the Seed

    Funded Mar 7, 2011

Thank you so much for your gift to our classroom. We have already used the globes to talk about water and natural resources of the earth. You have given us a valuable resource. We will be soon starting our unit on plants. During this unit, we will use peat pots to plant wildflower seeds. Hopefully all of our plants will survive our Minnesota "spring" and grow to be healthy!

Students have been looking through the wildflower plant guides--I even have one student who is taking notes on which flowers he likes, writing down the names and looking up the information in the back of the book about those flowers! That is a spark that wouldn't have happened without your help.

Like most school districts, money is very tight and it is difficult to purchase the "extra" materials to extend learning for students. Through your generosity, I am able to extend the learning for my students. Thank you again for your generous donations!”
