Helping Little Ears Learn Online
Funded Aug 2, 2023Your gift of headphones, the cd player and the connector has been a huge hit with the kids! Did you know that many of my kindergarten student have never used a true computer before? Yes, many have played on their parent's phone or ipad, but to actually use a chrome book (computer) was beyond exciting for them!
The headphones allowed them to work in peace and quiet while they learned how to use a new app on their chrome books today. They learned how to make the volume go higher or lower and many told me how comfortable their headphones were.
The cd player that connects to the headphones in their literacy station is so cool! There is a remote controller that turns the cd to play and to stop. I have the station ready to go for 5 learners at a time. They are all able to listen to a book together thanks to the connection device you purchased for them. You have made my 19 students so pumped to learn that they keep asking me when they get to use the headphones and computers again! Thank you for making learning so fun for them!”

Funded Aug 19, 2022I can't thank you enough for your generous donations! Our class is literally giddy every day when they can choose to explore the many STEM hands-on activities available to them during our Plan Do Review time at the end of the day. They have been building, creating, exploring and working independently and also cooperatively with their classmates. Some examples of their creations are houses, grocery stores, robotic cars, windmills and very long inchworms. :) Their smiles in the pictures say it all. Thank you again!”

Inspiration Station!
Funded Nov 16, 2021My students are loving the dramatic play activities so much! Presently they are enjoying the magical gingerbread bakery and coffee shop. They are using the play money, credit cards, the desserts, cooking utensils and mixer, just to name a few, that you so generously donated to them. They also love using the mop, broom and other cleaning tools to straighten up the bakery when it is time to clean up. The playdoh pizza set is also a big hit! I can't wait to introduce the other dramatic play items in the upcoming months. If you could see their smiles behind their masks you would know immediately how much you have enriched their lives.”

Funded Mar 1, 2021It is hard to describe in words about how amazing this experience was for all of us. We got to witness the miracle of chicks and ducks hatching in real time! The incubator you so graciously donated to our class was phenomenal! We had 6 extremely healthy chicks and 5 extremely healthy ducks hatch perfectly! The built in rotation cups and humidifier made all the difference! Other kindergarten teachers in my school are now going to get the same incubator because of how successful our hatchings were.
My students learned first hand about the lifecycles of these oviparous animals. You can ask ANY of them to tell you what animals are oviparous or viviparous and they will gladly give you examples and explanations. They learned all about the stages of growth the chicks and ducks go through in their 21 and 28 day incubation periods. Watching the ducklings swim in water for the first time was priceless!
Again, thank you so very much for supporting our learning with this amazing science project. YOU have made a huge difference in my students' lives and in mine! I am now a huge bird person and wish I could have my own farm. :)”

Organize & Prioritize!
Funded Sep 24, 2020My kinders are so enjoying the easel for alphabet and phonics practice. They are able to use the caddies that have markers and twistables in them. Because of Covid, we have to sanitize the markers after each use, but it is really awesome how I can color group them and it helps the kids learn their colors too! The phonics flip chart is a fantastic way to teach the kids cvc words (consonant, vowel, consonant) and rhyming words! We love it! When Covid is under control we will be able to use the behind the chair pouches for them to keep their materials close to them. It is such an exciting thing to look forward to. Thank you again for your donation and for caring about our class and our kids.”

ZOOM....... Read to Me!
Funded Aug 11, 2020Even though the kids have not been physically to school yet, the impact your gifts have had on all of us is huge! Our zoom meetings are going extremely well because of all the technology you gifted us. Specifically, the stand for my laptop has been a game changer. I can raise, tilt and rotate the laptop for the children to see the whiteboard, the pocket chart and other places in our classroom with ease. I have been reading the books to them daily either in our live zoom meetings, or recording them using Screencastify and then uploading the videos to Google Classroom for them to watch. I can't thank you enough! Your kindness means so much.”

Funded Jun 12, 2020My students and I thank you so much for your generosity! With COVID, we were unable to finish the year in person. Distance learning was a challenge, yet quite successful. The biggest thing I kept hearing from my students and parents was the fact that they couldn't get their hands on "real" books with all local schools and libraries being closed.
They each got both fiction and nonfiction books to read, love and to keep! I tried to choose books at their reading levels and a little above to challenge them a bit, yet also so they would be able to comprehend and engage in the text.
As the pictures I posted show, your gift of three books each really made a HUGE difference in their lives. My heart melts when I look at the pictures and see their smiles, thank you for that!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Adkisson
