Soaring Artists
Funded Nov 30, 2021Thank you so much for generously donating t our school campaign. Our students thrive in the arts as it is a way for them to truly express themselves and learn about many topics. Your donation helped us purchase art supplies for the art teachers in our school at different sites. This allows them to complete more hands-on projects with the students throughout the school year. They made many types of art including sculpture, print making, painting, mixed media, oil pastels, and more. The students always look forward to their art classes and new projects.”

Funded Jul 31, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. The materials you provided helped my students for the entire school year from September through June. We created a lot of projects with the laminating paper, cardstock, and colored paper your donation provided. We were able to laminate lesson items for the students that we could use throughout the month for the teaching units. The students used the cardstock and colored paper to create artwork during each unit. This allowed students to express their creativity. The students love art and getting to do so many art projects with them was amazing and worthwhile.”

Costumes Galore!
Funded Mar 14, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations for our Aladdin Musical. They say it takes a village and that is completely true. We could not have done this without your support. The money your provided helped us buy materials to create costumes and props for the students. It really made the experience of Aladdin come to life for the students. For many of our students, these concepts can be so abstract so to have the costumes and props for the kids to wear and see was very helpful. We even had double costumes for double casting so all students had a chance to participate in different roles.”

Action! Our Aladdin Jr. Musical
Funded Feb 11, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations for our school musical. This was such an amazing event for our students starting from September leading all the way up to the end of May, our show date. Your donations helped us buy costumes for many different roles in the Aladdin Musical such as Jasmine, Sultan, Aladdin, dancers, and townspeople. Your donations also helped us to receive materials to create costumes and props for our amazing musical. The students had a blast performing and also creating items for the show. Over 50 students from Kindergarten through 8th grade participated. Parents and school staff raved about the musical days after. Thank you so much for helping make this event one for the books that the kids can remember and be proud of. We truly appreciate the work and contributions of the entire village.”

Showcase Our Work
Funded Nov 30, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donations. It truly could not have been possible without you. This project will really help us to showcase student work in our events. We cannot wait to use the panels to display student work during our Black History Month Science Fair and our Art Gallery. We are grateful for your gift on Giving Tuesday and will continue the act beyond this day by giving to our students.”

Funded Jul 1, 2020Thank you so much for the donations. My students really loved the big books and the ball chairs. The big books have such large pages and pictures which made it easier for all of the students to see. The students enjoy hearing the story read aloud and having the moveable pieces to accompany each story. It helps them follow along and sequence the events in the story. We've also used these books to supplement specific lessons such as rhyming words. The ball chairs are useful in giving students flexible seating options. Again, thank you very much for your generous donations. They are truly needed and truly loved.”

Funded Jul 1, 2020Thank you so much for donating these materials to my classroom. My students really enjoyed using the materials to make crafts that related to their learning topic. The materials allowed me to more visually highlight the learning concepts for the students. In a typical learning period, we usually do two 10-12 minute academic activities and one 10-12 minute art activity. I try my best to incorporate at least 1 art activity per subject period. Because my students really love art, having these materials meant a lot. The materials gave the students an outlet to express their knowledge and just be creative with their work. It was a part of the lesson that they looked forward to doing. Moreover, by incorporating art into our lessons, the students are able to practice copying and following one step and two step directions. It gave them a chance to practice their speaking and listening skills as well as their ability to pay attention to detail.
In October, we learned about school safety and rules. We read the book The Pigeon Goes to School and answered questions about what the pigeon does at school. In some on the pictures, you can see the students creating a bus and building a pigeon to go along with their writing. We extended this activity to writing about safety rules on the bus and especially how to stay safe in the Covid-19 pandemic.
In November, we studied addition and subtraction in math class. Because I place a big emphasis on literature across subjects, we read the book The Rainbow Fish. Then, we put together a rainbow fish craft. I differentiated the work for each student to solve subtraction equations. Some students solved subtraction equations and some students solved subtraction word problems. We used the scales as manipulatives to show the amounts. The students enjoyed this craft in addition to the math activity. I am happy to have received these materials so that I can continually provide art extension and interactive hands on activities for the students to facilitate in grasping concepts and building skill sets.”
