Funded Dec 3, 2019To thank you for your generous donations is not enough. The impact your donation had on my students will last beyond just this year. Providing students will a wide variety of books to choose from provides them all with the opportunity to really dig into reading at their own level. In addition, by helping me add to my classroom library, you are providing my reluctant and struggling readers with a wide variety of books at various levels. This allows students to build their love of reading while also giving them means in which to reach their yearly reading goals. It is my hope that by building and encouraging reading now, it is something students can sustain over their lifetime.”

Funded Nov 8, 2016I cannot thank you enough for donating books to my classroom! The impact they have had on my students in indescribable. While not only have you helped complete collections within my classroom, you have helped me to continue to open the world of reading and books to my students.
In addition, because of the influx of new books, so many of my reluctant readers have not only started to want to read, but also have not put a book down. They have worked to meet their reading goals and are constantly looking for the next book to enjoy. This is something that is priceless and could not have been done without your donations!”

Washington D.C. here We Come!
Funded Oct 19, 2014First, I want to begin with thanking each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart. Your donation made it possible for me to take 16 students across the United States to experience Washington D.C., Jamestown, and Williamsburg. For many of these students, this was not only their first time on a plane, but their first time traveling out of our hometown and state. It is also an experience they will probably never experience again, but one they will NEVER forget! Just knowing that, makes this experience even more powerful and mind-blowing.
Throughout the trip, my students were not only able to see the various monuments within our nation's capital, but also the many museums and living history experiences that are offered to deepen a student's understanding of our nation's incredible history. These experiences brought to life all of the topics were had discussed throughout the year in class. It was as if their history book and class novels were being brought to life. The smiles on their faces, the expressions of awe and wonder are something I will ever forget. Every step along the trip, provoked questions and discussions with my students that would have never happened within a classroom. In addition, my students were able to build relationships and bond with other students they might have never socialized with while on campus. They took on leadership roles and were able to come out of their shells to experience life in a way they never have before. They were able to see that life and their future can and does exist outside of their community. Again, I cannot thank you enough for making this trip possible for my students.”
