Enjoying It Together
Funded Jul 12, 2021Although the school year hasn't started yet, this project helps in so many ways. Parents are able to focus on their other children and their own personal situations and not stress about some of the supplies needed for everyday. I have always wanted to help my students but wasn't always financially stable to do so. With this project, you all were able to help supply my students with supplies that will be for them and not shared since we are still in a pandemic. I don't have enough words to say thank you for everything.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Holmes

Funded Dec 2, 2020I want to say thank you again for donating to my project. With the items in the project, I was able to share my love of reading with my class. With the books, we did a novel study and the students used their knowledge of figurative language to write a summary of the texts. My students were very excited that they had a book that they could keep and share with their families and friends.
Reading in my classroom this year was a little different. I couldn't monitor them the way I would have if we were in the building. I didn't know who was reading or who read but I do know I had at least half of my class read and were able to discuss the text.
Again, I thank you.”

Funded Aug 27, 2020This has definitely been a trying year for us teachers. Teaching virtually is not an easy task to take on. This project would have worked better in an actual classroom setting but I made it work by using my document camera to show students the poster and the other great items in the box for math. They enjoyed seeing them on their screen but I know when I go back in the classroom, my students will enjoy them a lot more because they will be able to use them themselves while in groups or whole group. Thank you so much for donating to this project. I truly think it would be more beneficial in a classroom. Again, thank you all again for your donations.”

Funded Aug 12, 2020First, I want to say a huge Thank You for donating to my very first project. Majority of my students this school year did not have their supplies so when I was able to make their bags and meet up with them, not only were they excited but their parents were as well. When I was able to tell my parents of what goodies I had for their children, they were just as happy as I was when I got the notification that my project was fully funded. These supplies help them so much as we go about our day, even if it is virtual. They are able to use the supplies at home to do their work and they are so happy that their teacher cared enough to make sure they had some extra supplies for those who already had supplies and supplies for those who were not able to get any. The next steps I have is to get the word out to other teachers that there are nice, loving, and caring people out there who will donate to a stranger to make sure that students get the supplies and support they need. I have a few other projects for books so that my students can read and engage in conversation with me about those books. Again, thanks again for your donations.”
