  • Class Essentials

    Funded Aug 16, 2023

First off, thank you for your help in finding this project. All the items that were ordered are going towards creating the classroom environment that I envisioned. One way your donation helped was by allowing scholars to have an opportunity to use the cushions during class work time and for reading at the carpet. They literally "fight" over who can use them because they love the comfort they provide.

The organization and cleanliness comes in with the microfiber clothes and spray bottles we were able to get. Scholars love to clean during our dismissal (they get to talk to their friends and have fun while they do so). Now we can clean more sustainably with the cloths. Once they are all dirty, I can take them home and wash them and then reuse them. It's been a lot better than using the Clorox wipes because they run out quickly.

Lastly, the wall/door organizer was used for organizing our headphones. This way they don't get tied up with each other and it's easier to grab because I labeled them based on their class number.

Overall, all these items are coming in handy and are needed to maintain a clutter free, clean, and functioning classroom where we have less to worry about. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Castro

  • Restocking Essentials

    Funded Nov 3, 2023

First off, thank you for your donation. You are making a big impact with our 5th grade scholars. I say ours because these items will be helping not just my homeroom, but the other 5th grade classes.

The two pencil sharpeners went to the other classes who didn't have a mechanical one, or had one but it was not working well anymore. Similarly, the Teachers Pay Teachers card will go towards activities for all three classes. I've already used it to purchase some science sorting activities which have come in very handy as supplemental activities for our lessons.

The other materials have also been put to use- sharpies for writing their names on their folders, the Velcro for putting up the cover over our door and now for putting up our headphone organizer.

Once again, thank you for your contribution! :)”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Castro

  • Lesson Materials! Significant Figures in History

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Your contribution has made an impact for both my students and I.

I was able to create mini-lessons on significant figures in history throughout the months. They especially liked learning about African American inventors, which makes sense since I teach them science.

Aside from learning about them, they were also able to dive into research using templates that I was able to get from TPT.

There is still so much I'd like to incorporate throughout the months and on a day-to-day basis, and I'm thankful to still have an opportunity to do so with your donations. I'm looking forward to seeing what more I can do to expand their knowledge of people and cultures. TPT will help me do just that!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Castro

  • 5th Grade Library

    Funded Jul 8, 2020

This year has not gone as expected because of the pandemic. I do not have scholars that I teach in person, instead, I have virtual scholars who do not have access to the books you all were able to help me get. However, I've been able to read a couple of them using my HoverCam! A Little Spot of Sadness, A Little Spot of Anger, and others have been read to them. I feel like these books are definitely making a difference, especially during these times to help them out with the feelings they may be experiencing. I've also been able to send some letters with prizes to my kids with the stamps I got. We are staying safe and having a great time together.

Thank you for all your support and know that your contribution has been impactful and will continue to be!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Castro

I'm excited to be working with these scholars, but I need your help to provide them with a diverse set of books. I want to make sure that each student can find a book they are interested in but that can also expose them to SEL (social emotional learning), different cultures, and representation. This is just the beginning of my school library, so whatever you can donate will be highly appreciated. Note: I chose distance learning to have the books shipped to my house but they'll be used in person *fingers crossed*.
