Funded Mar 20, 2023Thank You for assisting my students with obtaining the required Filament Spools for creating their 3D projects. The Filament provides my students with the material needed to create 3D Objects on our Cubicon Single Plus 3D Printer. Without the Filament we would be unable to create any design as Filament is the material needed to print the designs.
Through our 3D Club, students have been able to explore designs of their own interest which fosters a sense of ownership in their education. By selecting their own Filament colors, students were more invested on the creativity side as they were motivated by their own choice of multiple colored Filament Spools to create their own projects.
Most of my students have heard about 3D Printers but have never seen one or utilized one in person. Coming from financially stressed situations, most of my students have stated that they could never afford a 3D Printer in their home so to have one in the school environment has been a huge plus for all my students. They are most appreciative to gain experience utilizing a 3D Printer and having now having access to the various Filament Spools to use has only enhanced their educational experience with using a 3D Printer!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Warner
3D PRINTING: THE FUTURE IS NOW
Funded Sep 29, 2022Students at ALC @ Brighton Beach are so excited to be acquiring new technology concepts through the utilization of our newly donated Cubicon Single 3D Printer. The unboxing with staff and students was full of enthusiasm and anticipation since many of us have never seen a 3D Printer in person. The "Digital Divide" was being bridged in real time and the wonderment on their faces was a testament to their curiosity with this new age technology.
After mastering the basic installation and safety procedures, Students will be working on a Black History Month project in which they will create a 3D Periodic Table celebrating Black History by replacing the "Elements" with African American icons, Milestones and Achievements.
The next steps after the Periodic Table project will include incorporating the Blender program with the 3D Printer in an effort to create and design personalized Structural Ornaments depicting traditional, modern and futuristic architectural designs.
Once again thank you for granting us the opportunity to bridge the Digital Divide through your kind and generous donation to our school community.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Warner
