Since many of our students are English Language Learners, this will help them learn and visually recognize different spelling patterns of words by building them and using a tactile approach. Our school's phonics program is engaging and hands-on but doesn't have the tactile, visual support needed to support different learning styles, special education students, as well as, ELL students. By having these letters, it will help to make the lessons more engaging, and concrete for our students. Since Covid-19 limits students' engagement and working in partners, I am requesting these magnetic letters so the students can manipulate and build words connected to each lesson. These manipulatives will help create activities that are fun and exciting for all the second-grade students.
