  • Animals Around the World

    Funded Dec 4, 2023

We have recently completed our curriculum unit on animals and their habitats. The students were so excited to see the new manipulatives we received through your generosity. It is so exciting to see how they interact with each other while using the materials. If you were to ask them, they would tell you they were playing. If you were to observe them you would see students sorting and matching animals to their habitats, using the vocabulary of our unit, and sharing prior knowledge they have.

At the preschool age so much of their learning happens through play. With some of the expectations of administrators and school districts it can be difficult to provide the playful learning they need. The Animals Around the World duplos we received with your help easily fit into our curriculum standards. I appreciate your help in incorporating standards-based play for my students.”

    With gratitude,

  • Supporting Vocabulary With Visuals

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation to this project. Through your generosity I was able to obtain vocabulary cards, posters, and materials to connect to each unit of study. For our most recent unit, transportation, I had all the materials necessary to introduce new vocabulary to students, encourage their writing, label objects around the classroom, and create activities, such as matching games, to help them engage with the vocabulary.

Engaging students in learning new vocabulary is an important part of teaching preschool. It is especially important to students for whom English is not their first language, as well as students who can't easily express themselves. Providing visuals that tie into what we are learning helps students to connect with the curriculum in a way they wouldn't be able to by simply hearing the vocabulary. This donation has made the curriculum more accessible for many of the students in my current class as well as future classes. Thank you again. This has made a big impact on their learning.”

  • Meeting the Social Emotional Needs of All Students

    Funded Jan 6, 2024

Thank you so much for your support on this project. I am so excited to be able to share social emotional skills with my students through their native language! Providing these social stories in Spanish will make the curriculum more accessible to them. Students will be able to understand the skills being taught more quickly and internalize the information to use throughout their day.”

    With gratitude,
