Basic Supplies Needed!

Due to your generous donations, scholars were provided packets containing a folder, sheets of construction paper, markers, a glue stick, tape, post-its, and pencils. These materials were provided at the beginning of the school year, so that scholars could use them in the development of various Science projects taking place throughout the year. Often when a project is provided, scholars are asked to communicate the information collected and gathered by developing posters, flyers or presentations. These materials were provided to scholars so that if they chose to create posters or flyers, they would have the needed materials to do so.

In providing scholars these materials, they were surprised, thrilled and thankful. Many of the scholars wanted to use the materials right away and were excited when I explained that they could.

Currently, scholars are working on an activity where they will be making observations on six different lab demonstrations and using clues provided to them to identify whether the lab demonstration is an example of a physical or chemical change. Scholars will gather these observations, display their findings in the form of a presentation or flyer. Scholars will be developing this project over the course of next week, with the final draft of the project due by Wednesday, December 2, 2020.
