Succeed With Social Emotional Literature 1
Funded Aug 27, 2021Thank you again for your generosity in helping fund this project. My school is focusing strongly in Social Emotional learning since we've come back in person as so many students have been learning remotely. Most of my students in particular have never entered school till this past September. These literature books along with the mood meter we have learned in class have helped my students tremendously in learning how to recognize, understand, label, express and regulate their feelings. They think the plush toys that go along with the different Spots are hilarious. The students also enjoy the rock painting projects that I will continue to carry out through out the year based on different themes we are learning.”

Funded Aug 22, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity. My little kinders and 1st graders love Little Spot! They wait each week to see what emotion they will hear about next. They love the confused one because of it whirlwind of colors. I have the poster hanging on the wall and anytime students feel a certain emotion, they are able to go up to the plush Little Spot and pick the correct color and state what's bothering them. I also do a lot of modeling to help with their expressive language. They think the books are hilarious because it's the Little Spots who are talking.”

Funded Aug 17, 2021Thank you so much for the donations toward our class project which consisted of the Word Family Flip books, Change a Sound Flip book and Stack and Build Phonics Flip books. The students get excited when it's center time since they love using the items to help reinforce their word family knowledge. The are now able to differentiate words by switching the beginning, ending and middle sounds to the flip books. They feel more confident now when they read and sound words out. These activities have helped boost their confident in reading!”

Learning Academics Through Art!
Funded Jul 23, 2021My class used to work on art projects with materials rolling off their desks. They were so impressed when I showed them our new trays to hold our art materials. It was so easy to contain everything and very easy to cleanup. We used the letter beads and pipe cleaners we received to spell out their names to make individualized bracelets.
Since I teach a self contained class, I run out of wall space since I have a small room. This year I decided to buy a garment rolling rack to hang pocket charts. Pocket charts are the most useful to hang unit of study vocabulary, sight words, spelling words and math vocabulary words. I also use the pocket charts to divide my room when teaching between the 2 grades. Thank you to all my donors in getting this project funded. My class truly appreciates it.”

Laminate This! Reuse That! Pencils Here, Pencils There!
Funded Aug 12, 2021Thank you so much for your donations for a laminating machine , laminating pouches and tissues. I have used the laminating machine to laminate letter, letter sound and sight word sheets to review in class daily and to send home for review.
Parents love that the sheets that were sent home were laminated. It's a great resource where students can actually use a dry erase marker to write on and it can be cleaned off with a simple tissue.
Kleenix also helped fund my project. Since I teach in a self contained class of 12, I do not get that many extra supplies, especially tissues.
I'm very grateful for your donations which help support my kindergarten and 1st grade students.”

Funded Jun 22, 2021During the 1st few weeks of school, we began learning how we are all special; ways we are the same and ways we are all different. The amazing donors have made it possible for my students to learn about diversity with a wide range of products to use in the classroom.
Included in the project are large posters which show children from different countries and the different attire they wear. I was able to get jumbo and regular size crayons that reflect skin colors where students can match crayons to their own skin color. Skin toned multi colored construction paper that we will use in a few weeks to depict our family portraits. The best part of this project were the Diversity Inclusion prompt cards which helped gear deep discussions along with the Diversity Inclusion Daily Practice journal.
I'm very grateful for your donations that help support my kindergarten and 1st grade students.”

Sight Words and Beyond
Funded May 27, 2021I am so grateful to have friends, family and total strangers believe in what I do! My students have been learning remote for 1 1/2 years and some have never stepped foot in a classroom because they were fully remote for Pre-K. They have fallen behind in sight word knowledge and it impacts the beginning stages of reading.
Being that they are students with special needs, they benefit from hands on learning. Your generosity has brought that experience of hands on learning right into my classroom. They love and look forward to center time. They understand that there are challenging activities and easier ones. I love the way they start with the easy ones and then work their way up to more challenging activities. I was able to get different levels of activities so ALL my students can participate.
I'm very grateful for your donations which help support my kindergarten and 1st grade students.”

Funded May 27, 2021Your donations have had a huge impact on my students. Having individual seat sacks teaches them responsibility for their supplies, such as crayons, colored pencils, pencil cases and colored folders to store worksheets from different subjects, at such a young age. Due to social distancing my students are learning independence and taking ownership of their own materials in an organized way.
Having the seat sacks helps many of my students with organizational skills which they receive during occupational therapy. They look forward to Fun Friday. It's a day we spend a few periods at the end of the day learning through our ELA and Math centers. Once they are done cleaning up, it's time to go through our seat sacks and organize ourselves for the coming week. I have seen students find loose crayons, pencils and crumbled up papers. I'm so proud of them because they now know how to keep their seat sacks clean and organized.
I'm very grateful for your donations which help support my kindergarten and 1st grade students.”

Summer Help!
Funded May 28, 2020Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for your generous donations. My students (kindergarteners and 1st graders) had a really tough time learning remotely this past spring. Some of my families have essential workers who unfortunately couldn't stay home and help their child attend google meets and then there were those who were technically challenged. Now that school is back in session, either blended or fully remote, my parents have expressed how helpful the workbooks were and kept them busy all summer. Thank you for making this happen.”
