  • Hands on Learning With Autism!

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Thank you so much for your donations. The children enjoy learning through hands on activities. Thanks to you, they are strengthening their fine motor skills without realizing because they are too busy having fun building with cubes and play foam while learning their letters and numbers. The printed sheets that I purchased from Teachers Pay Teachers and then laminated are awesome resources that can be used for the entire class and can be differentiated to all the children's abilities. The social skills stories help my students who have autism understand what's appropriate and inappropriate language when engaging with each other throughout the day especially during lunch.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Rappa

  • Help Bring My Class to Life

    Funded Sep 15, 2022

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping make my classroom so colorful. My students and I had to move classroom 2 weeks into the school year to have more available space. The new classroom was so plain and grey and now it's so colorful and alive making learning even more fun. My students love Pete the Cat, so when they saw Pete the Cat bulletin board along with the books their faces faces lit up.

I use Teachers Pay Teachers a lot where I print and laminate sheets/posters for the class as resources during instruction. The resources are very useful and preserved because of the laminated sheets. We are very blessed to have donors like you supporting our class.”

  • Literacy for Learning Through Summer!

    Funded May 6, 2022

Thank you donors for your kindness. My students' parents were so happy to have received workbooks that their child can work on over the summer so they do not regress.

Also, to make learning more exciting, I find that purchasing items from Teachers Pay Teachers make the lessons more engaging. They are a wonderful resource for vocabulary cards, homework sheets, morning work and differentiated work for all subjects. A majority of things I purchase on Teachers Pay Teachers end up being laminated and hung around the room where students are seen using the sources to help with their writing and math assignments. It's a win, win for all!”

  • School Supplies for the New 2022

    Funded Feb 27, 2022

Thank you so much for helping fund my project. My students love using their dry erase markers during writing practice. They use them constantly that they dry out. My students come with different fine motor skill goals and therefore the two sizes of markers gives them choices.

I use the card stock to decorate our classroom and classroom door. I also go through a lot of printed resources that help my students with handwriting and math skills. I have them laminated for continuous practice at school and home. I love seeing my students working hard with the available resources that are brought to us because of my wonderful donors.”

  • Testing 1, 2, 3! Can You Hear Me?

    Funded Mar 2, 2022

My students and I are beyond blessed to have received full funding for his project. The children are all ecstatic about using the new microphone. It is shaped like a ball and it has sparked many students' interests in being able to speak up. Most of my students receive speech therapy and this microphone is awesome so they can hear their own voices as well as repeat what others are saying instead of mumbling. They now await eagerly to answer questions because they want to hear their voices. They also love hearing their fellow peers answer questions. They look forward to passing it along to the next speaker.”

  • Learning Through Play-Doh

    Funded Feb 5, 2022

My students and I truly appreciate your donations. They LOVE using play-doh. I use it as an incentive for my kinders and 1st graders to learn their ABC's and sight words while strengthening their little fine motor skills. First they have to use it to build letters , then build sight words and then build sentences. They have to read back what they build. Once they are done, I get to approve their work and let them build whatever they want. What they don't know is that they need to build the letters or sight words that they are struggling (based on recent assessments). So it's a WIN WIN for both my students and I.”

  • Fun Learning Tools

    Funded Dec 15, 2021

The Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards has given me access to thousands of resources that I have laminated and use for hands on ELA and Math activities. My students love the hands on activities. I have purchased activities for my students who need extra support as simple as matching upper case to lower case letters and counting pictured objects and matching them to the correct numbers. I have also found reading sentence strips and sight word activities for my higher performing students. My students and I truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your donations.”

  • Trying To Catch Up On Phonics!

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

My students look forward to center time each day. They absolutely love the new additions to our centers. It makes a big difference when they are learning through hands on activities than with pencil and paper. I feel they also get a better understanding when learning about different scenarios for social emotional learning through matching picture puzzles. Some students match the pictures while others are able to read the sentences. It's a great differentiated center for all learners in my Kindergarten - 1st grade bridge class. This couldn't be possible with the generosity of the Donors Choose community and my wonderful donors. Thank you on behalf of my students and I.”

  • Fun Math For First Graders!

    Funded Nov 1, 2021

Thank you for all your generous donations! My students have been working hard learning through fun hands in math centers. Since I have many different levels in the class, these activities are perfect for everyone. They are able to work on different levels and look forward to more challenging activities. They love that they can self check/correct their answers when they are done without waiting for me to check them. It speeds up their process of going to the next activity. My students always look forward to center time!”

  • School Supplies and Books for Student Success!

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I used to borrow books from my town public library to share with my class and also look the books up on you tube but nothing feels better than to have your own set of books to keep in our class library to keep around all year long. Students love to pick out books to look at rather than their own reading leveled books. We've had lengthy discussions on how we are all the same but yet different, what makes us unique, how our class is also a family, look closely at the color of our skin and matching it with Crayola crayons we received from another project, all thanks to donors like you!”

This year my kindergarten students have severe learning disabilities, more than years' past. They are having a difficult time holding a pencil and crayon. They are not focused and having a difficult time learning. I want to be able to meet their needs while still exposing the same curriculum as other kindergarten students.
