  • Bilingual Children Need Bilingual Materials for Speech Therapy!

    Thank you so much for you generous donations. The digital materials really aided in having consistent, quality therapy during remote therapy. There were a wide variety of therapy materials included for articulation, receptive and expressive language skills that I could draw on in order to meet the wide and varied needs of the children on my caseload. There were games, pictures, and matching abilities so there was the choice of many activities to keep the children interested throughout the year. Thank you again for making such a difficult time so much easier for us.”

  • First Time Speech Therapy Space for This School!

    Thank you so much for your generosity. The speech therapy room is up and running. We continue to build our resources to try and meet the varied needs of our children. We use the sequence cards to have the children show comprehension of a story line, learn to answer a wide variety of wh questions about a story, and learn to use new vocabulary while telling a story. The markers are used in a wide variety of therapy materials and learn to follow a wide variety of directions when using them. The other materials allowed me to set up and make the office a welcoming place for our students. The glue, scissors and construction paper have been used for a variety of projects including the students creating their own books.”

  • Equity for Bilingual Children in Speech Therapy

    Thank you so much for allowing me to purchase digital materials for the children on my caseload. It has enabled me to continue to offer on target intervention with bilingual level appropriate materials for my Kindergarten through 5th graders. It is so difficult and so expensive to have mirror curriculums in both languages for the more than 30 children on my caseload. This gift allowed me to have a wonderful variety of activities that peaked the children's interest and kept them motivated! Thank you so much for your generosity.”

By sending children homework in both Spanish and English children will progress in the English learning levels while advancing in their overall development in comprehension and expression of their thoughts and ideas regardless of the language they are speaking in. It also allows the children's parents - who often do not speak English - understand what the child is working on and allows them to help their child with their homework. Remote learning is the most successful when it is done in a way to make parents partners in the process.

About my class
