  • Reading on a Cloud

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Thank you for supporting my classroom! I am so excited to bring these books and cushions into the classroom for my students to use. Being able to read in a comfy spot will encourage them to continue to choose new books to read and foster their love of reading amazing stories.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ratigan

  • Fabulous Supplies for First Grade

    Funded Nov 1, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! With your generosity we were able to receive materials for centers, new cushions for flexible seating, organization support, and new art supplies!

You have added such joy to my students' lives by allowing them to work on the floor with the cushions. This change alone has made them so excited to work independently. They have also been able to enjoy the new Crayola colored pencils and colored markers!

In the near future, we will be using the dry erase fact family boards to create a fact family community where we will build homes with fact families and create our own little neighborhoods.

Thank you again for supporting my class of 24 first graders!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ratigan

  • New Year, New Supplies!

    Funded May 4, 2023

Thank you so much for helping support my classroom of new students! The school year is off to a great start thanks to your donations. We have been busy at work being creative with our crayons and STEM magnets. We have also been working diligently on our spelling using the dry erase pockets. Lastly, we have been having so much fun learning with the phonics centers I was able to print, laminate, and cut with the materials from the project. All of this was made possible because of your help! My students and I thank you so much for helping make this new school year so great!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ratigan

  • Hip, Hip Hooray for Headphones!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you for donating to support my classroom of first graders! The headphones purchased with the project have helped tremendously for each student and their ability to focus on their learning while on their chromebooks. We have also loved using them for our listening center to enjoy some of our favorite books read on a CD.

The books from this project were also so fun to read as a class. We got to enjoy the Bad Apple: A Tale of Friendship together and talk about the importance of finding friends who you enjoy being around.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ratigan

  • New Year, New Supplies

    Funded Jun 14, 2022

Thank you for donating to my classroom of first graders! They need busy hands and full hearts in order to learn. With your support, I have been able to introduce math centers that were perfect for making and adding to 10, as well as moving by tens and ones on a 120 chart. Students have been so engaged and beg me for opportunities to play.

We have also been using Rime Magic daily to help with our spelling and word recognition! They love to participate and have grown so much in their reading.

Thank you again for being an amazing supporter in my classroom.”

  • Successful in Centers!

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

Thank you for supporting my classroom of first graders! I enjoyed creating new games and centers for them to use. We have been engaging in math games every day! My first graders also love their new phonics and reading centers. We use dry erase markers and clothespins to spell, read, and build words!

My students are also loving their new headphones for the chromebooks. They love to practice their reading on Lexia and math on Prodigy while using them!

All of the materials have made such a difference in their education.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ratigan

  • Make Learning Fun Again

    Funded Oct 30, 2021

Thank you for contributing to my classroom! My students have loved using these materials in our classroom. Most of the donations have gone towards hands on materials to help build concrete understanding of mathematics and phonics.

I used all the cardstock and laminating sheets to create games and centers. I used the magnetic letters and ten frames for my small groups. And the zipper pouches to store all of the pieces for all the games.

My students have grown so much by practicing their skills in a fun and engaging way. They also LOVE the cordless mice for their chromebooks. These little hands used to struggle to use the trackpad on the laptop. Now, they are thriving with the little mice!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ratigan

  • Hands-on With Learning

    Funded May 25, 2020

Thank you for supporting our hands on learning! We have been able to make, organize, and store centers for math and literacy that are ready for individual kiddos. In this world, social distancing in a classroom is going to be a tough job. I wanted to make it possible for my students to still use hands on centers safely. I have used the materials to create individual centers for math with the manipulatives that have been funded through this project! I have also been able to print, laminate, cut, and store literacy centers for individuals with the iris project cases. I can't wait to be able to let my students come back into the classroom to use these materials.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ratigan

Lucky for me, I get to bring my current class of kinders with me to first grade! This year, we missed out on the best part of school and I want to be able to give them those experiences when we go back in the fall. I want to facilitate hands-on math and science centers to help them explore and create experiences that will help them retain all the information we are discovering. Research shows that putting play back into learning has positive effects on how well the students learn the material.
